Cancer

Cancer medicine, also known as oncology, is the branch of medicine dedicated to the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and management of cancer. It encompasses various medical specialties with oncologists collaborating with surgeons, radiation oncologists, pathologists, radiologists, nurses, social workers, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive and personalised care to cancer patients. The CGHP-supported Paediatric Cancer Partnership currently involves pharmacists, nurses, paediatric oncologists, haematologists and pathologists working together to improve care of children with cancer in both the UK and Uganda, while a partnership with the Rama Foundation supports palliative and cancer care for disadvantaged communities in India.
