Nurses play a crucial role in delivering healthcare services in the NHS, with their responsibilities and duties varying widely depending on their specialisation, level of experience, and the setting they work in. Their core responsibilities usually include patient care, monitoring and assessment; care planning and coordination; patient education and support; carrying our clinical procedures, and documentation and record keeping. Many nurses hold specialised roles with a particular focus on areas like critical care or mental health. Nurses are involved in many of the global health partnerships that CGHP supports, in particular the SCALE Critical Care Partnership and the Kakamega – Cambridge Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) partnership.
