Maternal & Neonatal Health

Maternal and neonatal health is a specialised area of medicine focused on the health and well-being of mothers and babies. It incorporates a wide range of healthcare practices and services aimed at ensuring a safe pregnancy, delivery, and the early stages of a child’s life. This includes prenatal, perinatal and postnatal care, as well as neonatal intensive care. Nurses, midwives and obstetricians are involved in CGHP-supported partnerships that are working to improve maternal and neonatal health, including the Maternal and Neonatal Health Partnership with Uganda and the Kakamega: Cambridge Working to strengthen Antimicrobial Stewardship (AMS) partnership, as well as the Uganda SCALE Critical Care partnership.
